More than 4.000 buildings in disrepair registered in Istanbul

As a part of the state program for development of cities, registration of buildings in disrepair was held in major cities of Turkey, Hurriyet newspaper said on Friday.

According to the report, there are 4.595 buildings in disrepair in Istanbul. The largest number of damaged buildings is located in Istanbul’s Kadikoy, Umraniye, Bahchelievler, Sisli and Maltepe districts.

Sufficient numbers of damaged buildings were reported in Ankara, Diyarbakir, Yalova and Rize.

According to the decision of Turkish Urban Development and Environment Ministry, these buildings will soon be demolished and their residents will be provided with new housing.
