[ 15 Oct 2009 12:54 ] Baku – APA. Football fans didn’t observe FIFA ban on Azerbaijani flags at the Bursa Ataturk Stadium during the Turkey-Armenia match. Police took the flags away and stripped the T-shirts with Azerbaijani flags from the fans before the game, APA reports quoting the Turkish newspapers. Despite that, a group of young people could raise Azerbaijani flags together with Turkish at the stadium. FIFA commissar watching the game noted this fact in his report. FIFA is expected to punish Turkish Football Federation forcing the national team to play home match away. The Armenian national anthem was hooted at the stadium. The fans strongly protested the Armenian flag waved by a group of Armenian journalists. Some of the Armenian journalists left the stadium when the officials of the Turkish Football Federation asked them to down the flag. Members of the Bursaspor fan club “Texas” chanted “Armenians inside, Bursa outside” in a protest against non-allowance of some Bursa football fans to enter the stadium. The Azerbaijani flags left outside the stadium were hanged around the stadium and roadsides, as well as on cars on Bursa streets. Note: Photos were taken from Turkey’s Vatan newspaper
