Taksim Solidarity Platform group released a statement and declared that they were against Topçu Barracks or any building that would harm the park, and henceforth demanded that all detainees must be released forthwith.* Gezi Park, will remain as a park. We will not allow neither Topçu Barracks project, nor anything else that would exploit the nature and our living spaces.
* All officials nationwide – including Istanbul Governor, Chief of Police Force in İstanbul, Police Commissioner – who prevented people from using their legal democratic rights, who gave oppression orders, who executed these orders by using tear gas canisters, water cannons, smoke grenades, who caused injuries to many, must resign immediately. Use of tear gas canisters must be banned.
*Our friends who were detained all across Turkey to join the resistance must be released immediately and all charges must be dropped and no judicial due process must be followed thereafter.
* Taksim Park should stay as a park. All natural habitat and public spaces should be protected.
* From now on Demonstration ban on Taksim Park as well as all public spaces nationwide must be lifted and it should be opened for public demonstrations.
