Russia, Moscow, January 1 / TrendNews R. Mashadigasanli / The only question that remained unsolved between the Turkic-speaking people, is the question of a single alphabet – Turkey’s Ambassador to Russia Halil Akinci told Trend News on thursday.

According to him, even in the XIX century, the Turks around the world accepted the Istanbul dialect as a common language, accessible to all Turkic-speaking people.

But as the time went on, each people gave preference to its own language, which is quite natural.

“On the issue of a common language and alphabet of the Turkish-speaking peoples, we can modtly rely on the intelligency of Azerbaijan, which may be a bridge between the Turkic people. The common language will ease the understanding of the Turkic people. Today, however, some Turkic people are managed by leading nations of the world. From a political point of view of their association is not possible, and this can not be discussed”, he said.

According to Akinci, states speaking turkic should be close to each other.

“In the present, Turkey continues to work on the transition to a common Roman alphabet. All other states, people of which also speak Turkic, must get connected to the Turkish program”, said the diplomat.

According to the ambassador, the youth can bring a huge contribution to the integration of turkic-speaking people. This can be achieved through the exchange of students.

I agree with Mr. Halil Acinci that turcic people should have common latin alphabet. Russian Kremlin prohibited to Tatar People in Russia to have it. Why? Because it is afraid that this alphabet is a sign of separation Tatar People from Russian Empire. About this also we are writing in our Declaration of Independence of Tatarstan. I think the best dialect that has been released from the burden of Arabic and Persian languages is the Istanbul dialect. In addition, it is real sweet and sounds perfect. I am a Turk living in Azerbaijan. But I know that Azeri-Turkish (I mean state langauge) is heavily influenced by Persian and Arabic, including but not limited to, its phonetics, vocabulary. For example, insead of ‘incir’, ‘vatan’, we say ‘encir’, ‘veten’, or instead of ‘okul’, ‘bakanlik’, we say ‘mekteb’, ‘nazirlik’… In fact, a Turk can understand what ‘uchak’ means, but ‘teyyare’ cannot be understood. And most people in Azerbaijan’s regions speak differently in phonetic and lexical terms: for example, ‘dur’ instead of ‘dayan’, ‘qosh’ instead of ‘qach’, ‘baba’ instead of ‘ata’, ‘tabak’ insead of ‘boshgab’ etc. I mean all these words we use was once included in Osmanli dialect. But Turkey under Ataturk replaced the Persian and Arabic words with Old Turkish words, and they did it correctly. I appreciate this revolution, which is called ‘Dil Inqilabi’.

All Turks around the world must have one common langauge to understand each other everywhere, in all events, and listen to one-another when they are happy or have problems to share their feelings

  3. A common alphabet is necessary not only for efficient expression to encapsulate the richness of the language but in rebuilding the critical bond that has been pryed apart by Soviet era opression.
This is the second and most likely the strongest initiative of Turkey’s association into a world trading, political and social union other than the attempt to join the EU. As the EU continues to play games Turkey should begin a serious push to solidify a working union among Turkic States. The strongest and most ground breaking force here will be Media. Using the modern Turkish alphabet based language the massive broadcast of Turkish content programming from News, Drama and Sports will draw in daily viewership to assist in supporting pratical linguistic exposure on a constant basis. This should be encouraged by Azeri programming in modern Turkish and other Turkic based content! The Turanism Model!
