\nAsiatic Roots of the pre-Ottoman and Ottoman Culture will be held at
\nKyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Bishkek, 24-29 August, 2009.<\/p>\n
\nresearch on the Central Asiatic roots of the pre-Ottoman and Ottoman
\nculture related to the themes of administrative, social, economic,
\nmilitary,\u00a0 political aspects, as well as medicine, science,
\narchitecture, education, trade, historiography, literature and
\ninternational relations.<\/p>\n
\nCommittee.\u00a0 Abstracts for individual papers should not exceed 300
\nwords. The desirable duration of a paper presentation<\/span> is 15 minutes;
\nit should not exceed 20 minutes<\/span>. In case it becomes necessary to limit
\nthe number of papers, the selection will be made by members of the
\nOrganizing Committee.<\/p>\n
\ntwo to three papers, plus an analysis of them by a discussant (or a
\ndesignated chair) of ten to fifteen minutes maximum length. The papers
\nshould center on a single theme or question, and the panel proposal
\nshould include an abstract (300 words maximum) for the entire panel
\nexplaining its theme and rationale and how the individual papers
\ncontribute to that theme, in addition to an individual abstract (300
\nwords maximum) for each paper.\u00a0 In case it becomes necessary to limit
\nthe number of papers, the selection will be made by members of the
\nOrganizing Committee.<\/p>\n
\nDecember 2008 (request by email from organizers).\u00a0 The deadline for
\nthe paper titles and abstracts and\/or the initial proposals and
\nabstracts for pre-organized sessions and workshops abstracts is by the
\nend of January 2009.<\/p>\n
\naccommodation. The registration fee for the symposium is 50 (USD)
\nwhich should be paid to the accounts opened on behalf of the CIEPO (we
\nexpect to give the name of bank and account number in 2nd circular).
\nThe CIEPO membership should be paid 10 (USD) in advance as well.<\/p>\n
\nand excursion. The details about accommodation options (with prices)
\nwill be provided also in the 2nd circular).<\/p>\n
