Just sent the following letter to the members of the House Committee on Rules, the US Congress.<\/p>\n
From: <\/strong>Ergun Subject: <\/strong>Please vote \u201cNO!\u201d on H.Res.296 – the alleged Armenian genocide is racist and dishonest history<\/p>\n To : The Distinguished Members of the House Committee on Rules, the US Congress.<\/p>\n Re : H.Res.296, \u201cAffirming the United States record on the Armenian Genocide\u201d<\/p>\n Date: 27 October 2019<\/p>\n Dear Honorable Representatives:<\/p>\n I will not beat around the bush: The alleged Armenian genocide is based on a racist and dishonest<\/p>\n interpretation of WWI history.<\/p>\n If H..Res.296 is approved, it would be a blow to the credibility of the U.S. around the globe, for<\/p>\n legislating history scholarship for political gain. Would you want history to remember you as politicians<\/p>\n who undermined the history scholarship in America?<\/p>\n Please vote \u201cNO!\u201d on H.Res.296<\/strong>.<\/p>\n I will not take up your valuable time by reminding you how\u2026<\/p>\n Bagdadi in Syria, <\/strong><\/p>\n mis-informed anger at Turkey\u2019s self-defense, anti-terror operation in Syria,<\/strong><\/p>\n as you already know all that.<\/p>\n I will remind you, though, that the alleged Armenian genocide is based on a racist history because it dismisses<\/p>\n Turkish suffering at the hands of Armenian revolutionaries and dishonest because it ignores the<\/p>\n six T\u2019s of the Turkish-Armenian conflict:<\/p>\n 1) Tumult : Numerous violent Armenian armed uprisings,1862-1920 (See Esat Uras);<\/p>\n 2) Terrorism: Armenian terrorism victimizing Ottoman-Muslims (1860-1922, See Louise Nalbandian);<\/p>\n 3) Treason: Armenian turncoats joining the invading enemy armies (1877-1922, See Justin McCarthy);<\/p>\n 4) Territorial Demands: In regions where Armenians were a minority trying to establish the first apartheid<\/p>\n of the 20th Century (1877-1922, See Kamuran Gurun.)<\/p>\n 5) Turkish Suffering And Losses : More than 3 million Muslims, mostly Turks, died during WWI;<\/p>\n 1.1 million of them in Eastern Anatolia alone\u2014half a million of them at the hands of Armenian<\/p>\n revolutionaries (1914-1918, see Kemal Cicek)<\/p>\n 6) TERESET : Temporary Resettlement order of May 31, 1915. Triggered by the first five T\u2019s above<\/p>\n and amply documented as such; not to be equated to the Armenian misrepresentations as genocide<\/p>\n (See Yusuf Halacoglu.)<\/p>\n If the above objective evidence, readily supplied by honest history, does not quench your thirst for the truth,<\/p>\n then maybe this does:<\/p>\n The highest court in Europe, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR ), decided in 2013 and then again<\/p>\n upon appeal in 2015, that the alleged Armenian genocide is an opinion, not a court verdict,<\/strong><\/p>\n as such it cannot be held equal to Holocaust. Moreover, since it is an unproven opinion, it can be criticized and<\/p>\n rejected and doing so would be an act of exercise of freedom of speech. The reason why ECHR, after painstaking<\/p>\n scrutiny, decided that genocide was just an opinion, was because the judges noted that the Armenian narrative<\/p>\n lacked historical substantiation, because it ignored Armenian armed uprisings, violent revolts, ruthless terrorism,<\/p>\n cowardly treason, greedy territorial demands, and the resulting Turkish suffering at the hands of Armenian<\/p>\n revolutionaries. In other words, the alleged Armenian Genocide narrative left half the story out.
