{"id":65342,"date":"2013-02-14T14:35:20","date_gmt":"2013-02-14T12:35:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/?p=65342"},"modified":"2026-05-30T12:24:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T09:24:44","slug":"turkey-iran-to-unite-in-joint-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/2013\/02\/14\/turkey-iran-to-unite-in-joint-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkey, Iran to Unite in Joint University?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran has announced plans for a joint university with Turkey to expand scientific and technological cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"168\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/img337859.jpg\" alt=\"img337859\" class=\"wp-image-65343\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/?attachment_id=65343\"><\/span>Iran has announced plans for a joint university with Turkey to expand scientific and technological cooperation, according to a statement issued by Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arsalan Qorbani, Iran\u2019s Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology, announced Monday the two nations would set up parallel university branches in Iran\u2019s city of Tabriz, and the Turkish city of Wan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the plan, established in a joint Memorandum of Understanding signed by representatives of the two countries, has yet to be confirmed by the Turkish and Iranian governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe hope that Iran and Turkey\u2019s joint university will be established in the next six months,\u201d Qorbani told the FARS news agency.
