The Irish actor admitted to the U.K.\u2019s Sun newspaper that he is considering giving up his Catholic beliefs in order to become a Muslim.<\/p>\n
Neeson, 59, went on to explain that Islamic prayer \u201cgot into his spirit\u201d when he spent time in the Turkish city working on the action-thriller \u201cTaken 2.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it\u2019s the most beautiful, beautiful thing,\u201d he told the newspaper.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are 4,000 mosques in the city,\u201d he added. \u201cSome are just stunning, and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim.\u201d<\/p>\n
Neeson, who was raised a devout Catholic, served as an altar boy during his youth and was named after a local priest in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n
However the actor, who stars in the upcoming action flick \u201cThe Grey,\u201d has previously expressed his opinions toward religion.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was reared a Catholic, but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What\u2019s it all about?\u201d he has said. \u201cI\u2019m constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism.\u201d<\/p>\n
