Although Turkey has said similar things in the past, Obama had been trying to convince the Turks to go along with US sanctions (Hat Tip: Joshua I).<\/p>\n<p>Foreign Ministry spokesman Sel\u00e7uk \u00dcnal said Turkey would evaluate the content of the US sanctions but it &#8220;does not feel it is bound by any other sanctions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00dcnal spoke during a weekly news conference, which followed a meeting between Foreign Minister Ahmet Davuto\u011flu and Iran&#8217;s parliamentary speaker, Ali Larijani.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Japan pledged to buy less Iranian oil, boosting the US campaign a day after China reacted coolly to the idea.
