A series of portraits of sultans commissioned by Sultan Selim III and a monumental composition of the Crucifixion of Christ by court painter Konstantinos Kyzikinos (Kap\u0131da\u011fl\u0131 Kostantin) are all on display at the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>The works of art were rediscovered thanks to the support of the director of the Topkap\u0131 Palace Museum, Yusuf Benli, as well as the efforts of Greek Consul General Vasileios Bornovas and curator Mayda Sarris.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition was organized by the Directorate of the Topkap\u0131 Palace Museum and the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul under the auspices of the Culture Minister Ertu\u011frul G\u00fcnay and Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew.<\/p>\n<p>via \u2018Greek Painters of Istanbul\u2019 to continue at Topkap\u0131 Palace &#8211; Hurriyet Daily News.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greek Painters of Istanbul at the Topkap\u0131 Palace exhibition has been extended until July 4.
