When we search for the verbs in the dictionary we need to search them with \u2013 mak, -mek.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Examples; gelmek, gitmek, yazmak, s\u00f6ylemek, ko\u015fmak, oturmak, konu\u015fmak, sigara i\u00e7mek, y\u00fczmek, dans etmek, uyumak, uyanmak, r\u00fcya g\u00f6rmek, almak, vermek, i\u00e7mek, yemek.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But the stem for these verbs would be gel, git, yaz, s\u00f6yle, ko\u015f, otur, konu\u015f, sigara i\u00e7, y\u00fcz, dans et, uyu, uyan, r\u00fcya g\u00f6r, al, ver, i\u00e7, ye.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Same rule for the vowel harmony;<\/p>\n<p>If the last vowel in the verb is a, \u0131, o, u\u00a0 we bring -mak<\/p>\n<p>If the last vowel in the verb is e, i, \u00f6, \u00fc\u00a0 we bring \u2013mek. But you know that already.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have a tip for you:<\/p>\n<p>e with the vowels with dots over them i,\u00f6,\u00fc<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>a with the vowels without the dots \u0131, o, u.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you just use the stem on its own, then it is considered as a command which we studied in the previous lessons.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ex; Ali, buraya gel.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ali, come here.<\/p>\n<p>Sezen, su getir.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sezen, bring some water.<\/p>\n<p>Chloe, \u015fark\u0131 s\u00f6yle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Chloe, sing a song.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However when we make sentences using tenses like present tense, past tense, future tense, we will use the stem of the verbs and then add the appropriate suffix at the end of the stem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Turkish the verb goes at the end of the sentence. There is some exceptions to that. We call them \u201cInverted Sentences\u201d which are mostly used in the songs or to make the speech more interesting and more beautiful. We do not need to worry about it yet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s make some sentences to get you prepared for the next lessons. Do not worry about the suffixes.
