{"id":28709,"date":"2010-12-10T11:36:39","date_gmt":"2010-12-10T09:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turkishforum.com.tr\/en\/content\/?p=28709"},"modified":"2010-12-10T11:36:39","modified_gmt":"2010-12-10T09:36:39","slug":"iran-not-to-discuss-nuclear-issues-in-istanbul-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/2010\/12\/10\/iran-not-to-discuss-nuclear-issues-in-istanbul-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran not to discuss nuclear issues in Istanbul talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) &#8212; A senior Iranian lawmaker said Tehran will not discuss its &#8220;inalienable&#8221; nuclear rights with the five UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany (G5+1) in the next round of talks in Istanbul, local satellite Press TV reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of Iranian Parliament&#8217;s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Wednesday that &#8220;Iran is not supposed to negotiate its nuclear rights defined under the NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) with the G5+1&#8243; in Istanbul, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Under the NPT, Iran was entitled to use peaceful nuclear technology, he said, adding that those countries that seek to impede Iran&#8217;s access to such technology, in fact, violate the treaty, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day talks between Iran and the six major powers on Iran &#8216;s nuclear program ended on Tuesday with both sides agreeing to meet again in late January in Turkey&#8217;s largest city of Istanbul.<\/p>\n<p>After the talks, Iran&#8217;s chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili rejected any claims stating that agreements were made to discuss Iran&#8217;s nuclear issues in Istanbul next month, saying as Iran has reiterated, and as it was expected, that Iran did not let the &#8221; Iranians&#8217; (nuclear) rights&#8221; be discussed in the talks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) &#8212; A senior Iranian lawmaker said Tehran will not discuss its &#8220;inalienable&#8221; nuclear rights with the five UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany (G5+1) in the next round of talks in Istanbul, local satellite Press TV reported on Thursday.
