He was buried Friday after a funeral prayer at Z\u00fcht\u00fcpa\u015fa Mosque in Istanbul\u2019s K\u0131z\u0131ltoprak district.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">Freedom and Solidarity Party, or \u00d6DP, leader Alper Ta\u015f said in a written statement that Sarg\u0131n never gave up on his socialist mission, despite facing difficulties, including being sentenced to prison.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">\u201cOver 60 years of service, Sarg\u0131n worked on spreading the leftist view throughout Turkey and was a reliable politician,\u201d the Equality and Democracy Party, or EDP, said in a written statement.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">During both his TBKP and \u0130P years, Sarg\u0131n fought for the leftist view to be recognized in a legal platform.<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/n.php?n=communist-party-founder-dies-at-81-2010-11-19\"><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nihat Sarg\u0131n, secretary-general of the Workers\u2019 Party, or \u0130P, and one of the founders of the Turkish United Communist Party, or TBKP, died Wednesday in Istanbul.
