{"id":25119,"date":"2010-11-10T10:07:42","date_gmt":"2010-11-10T08:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.turkishforum.com.tr\/en\/content\/?p=25119"},"modified":"2014-01-05T21:49:07","modified_gmt":"2014-01-05T19:49:07","slug":"cellist-gaillard-to-play-istanbul-recitals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/2010\/11\/10\/cellist-gaillard-to-play-istanbul-recitals\/","title":{"rendered":"Cellist Gaillard to play \u0130stanbul Recitals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most famous cellists of the younger generation, Oph\u00e9lie Gaillard, will be the second guest of the \u0130stanbul Recitals concert series\u2019 2010-2011 season when she takes to the stage tomorrow night at the Mustafa Kemal Center (MKM) in Akatlar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-25121\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turkishnews.com\/en\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/gaillard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"160\" \/>The monthly series, which features recitals by world-class acts, opened its third season last month with a performance by pianist Rustem Hayroudinoff.<\/p>\n<p>Gaillard will be presenting a program made up of Bach\u2019s Cello Suite nos. 2 and 4 during the first half of her recital, where, in the second half, she will play Gaspar Cassad\u00f3\u2019s Cello Sonata on her 270-year-old cello, made in 1737 by Francesco Goffriller.<\/p>\n<p>The concert, starting at 8:30 p.m. at the MKM\u2019s Attila \u0130lhan Hall, will be Gaillard\u2019s second appearance in \u0130stanbul as part of the \u0130stanbul Recitals series, the first one being in November 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Both a recording and concert artist, the Franco-Swiss Gaillard is distinguished for her versatility with her performances of the baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary repertoires. The winner of several international competitions, notably the J.S.
