Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the president of the Turkish Coalition of America, G. Lincoln McCurdy, attended a ceremony at the Miami History Museum in downtown Miami at which the donation was made.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Helping Hands was established in 1998 after Hurricanes Mitch and George to provide South Florida residents with a way to reach out and help their neighbors in need following the disasters.<\/p>\n<p>This year the organization is focused on helping the people of Haiti after the deadly earthquake in January.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/2010\/08\/27\/1794790\/turkish-coalition-donates-25k.html\"><\/span>, 27.08.2010<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Turkish Coalition of America on Thursday donated $25,000 to Operation Helping Hands &#8212; a joint community project of The Miami Herald, el Nuevo Herald and United Way of Miami-Dade.
