Secretary General Ban Ki-moon&#8217;s proposal that an international  investigation be held into the Israeli raid on a Gaza aid flotilla last week,  but it seems clear that Israel<span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/link.email.foreignpolicy.com\/r\/2668GR0\/84Y4\/24G5\/HA4P\/TP1MJ\/QR\/h\"> has rejected<\/span> the idea, and will conduct its  own investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of the day, Israel has the right, the duty, as a democracy to  investigate any military activity,\u201d Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren  said on Sunday. The Israeli government is reportedly considering allowing some  international participation in an Israeli-led inquiry into the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/link.email.foreignpolicy.com\/r\/2668GR0\/84Y4\/24G5\/HA4P\/EWKL7\/QR\/h\">latest violence<\/span> in Gaza came on Monday when  the Israeli navy shot and killed four Palestinian militants in wetsuits off the  coast.
