“Armenia is conducting a fearful and cautious policy,” said Ramkavar
\nAzatakan Party (HRAK) leader Harutyun Arakelyan.<\/p>\n

He views the European Parliament’s recent resolution as another
\nattempt of pressure.<\/p>\n

“Armenia has always been pressured by outer forces. As a UN member
\nstate, Armenia must spare no effort to use the opportunities envisaged
\nby international law. Only after Armenia is guided by the norms of
\ninternational law in relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey and shifts
\nthe Genocide issue from the political domain to the international
\nlevel, will the USA, Russia and European Union change their stance
\ntowards Armenia,” says Mr. Arakelyan.<\/p>\n

The HRAK leader thinks Armenia should speak to the international
\ncommunity in their language and by their laws.<\/p>\n

“As long as we sit at a negotiation table with criminals like Turkey
\nand Azerbaijan and “pressurize” Turkey by recognizing the parliaments
\nof other countries and denouncing genocide, similar resolutions
\nand pressures are natural against a country [Armenia] which lacks
\nresources and market.”<\/p>\n

Harutyun Arakelyan thinks Armenia will gain nothing from the suspension
\nof the Armenian-Turkish Protocols.<\/p>\n

“As soon as international winds start blowing, the protocols will
\nappear on the parliament’s agenda, and our deputies will ratify them
\nin a flash.<\/p>\n

The danger is not eliminated. Turkey has proved the world that it
\nis a secular country seeking friendly relations with its neighbours
\nand EU membership. Armenia’s weak point is “its inner” Turks,” said
\nArakelyan meaning the propagandists who state that present Turks are
\ndifferent from the ones who committed the genocide.<\/p>\n

“This approach was put into circulation before the genocide. But we
\nmust understand that there is no difference between them. Today’s
\nTurks must repay for the atrocities of their forefathers. An U.S.<\/p>\n

prosecutor said in Nuremberg that Hitler did not take his crimes to
\nthe grave and each German must repay for his misdeeds. Similarly,
\nwe should have a Nuremberg; we must create a separate court under the
\nauspices of The Hague, similar to the International Criminal Tribunal
\nfor Rwanda,” Arakelyan concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
