BOSTON, FEBRUARY 3,\u00a0NOYAN TAPAN\u00a0–\u00a0ARMENIANS\u00a0TODAY. The Boston based
\ncoalition of Armenian and Jewish Community Leaders launched grassroots
\npetition urging all people to sign a letter to\u00a0President Obama\u00a0and
\nCongress that calls for swift passage of H. Res. 252, reported the
\nArmenian Assembly of America.<\/p>\n

The Armenian American Action Committee of\u00a0Massachusetts< SPAN class=ecxecxApple-converted-space>\u00a0(ARAMAC-MA),
\nArmenian National Committee\u00a0of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Jewish
\ncommunity and Assembly anti-genocide coalition partner Investor’s
\nAgainst Genocide were instrumental in launching the petition and
\nresource page.<\/p>\n

Herman Purutyan, ARAMAC-MA State Chair and coalition member stated that
\nwas an exciting collaboration of two communities, who have experienced
\nthe\u00a0ultimate crime against humanity, to stop future genocides wherever
\nthey may occur.<\/p>\n

“As two communities, Jewish and Armenian, we ask our fellow citizens
\nto let the President and Congress know that the recognition of the
\nArmenian Genocide is critically important, not only because it is
\nmorally the right thin g to do, but also it is necessary to prevent
\nsuch crimes from happening again.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The headline is misleading. It says that Jewish\u00a0community\u00a0leaders of America are backing the petition, but in fact it’s just the\u00a0Massachusetts branch. Mainstream American-Jewish organizations continue to lobby on behalf of Turkey. “Meg dzaghigov karoun cheekar.”
