The memorial was erected on Liyah Babayan&#8217;s initative, who came to Twin Falls from Armenia with her family at the age of 11.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe spent much of this year lobbying and raising money for the granite memorial that was placed at Twin Falls City Park on Saturday,\u201d the source says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt really means a lot to my parents and my grandparents,\u201d said Babayan. Now expecting a baby, she knows her child will not experience atrocities as an American.<\/p>\n<p>The memorial is a reminder of the massacres of Armenians in Ottoman Empire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have rooted ourselves in this community. I grew up here.
