Case one:\u00a0 Azerbaijan. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The U.S.-Russia-mandated\u00a0protocols with murky\u00a0gains but sure losses for Turkey are already costing Turkey dearly.\u00a0 Check out these recent developments:<\/p>\n

1- Azerbaijan Looks For Gas Routes To Europe Bypassing Turkey<\/h2>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

4-\u00a0 Azerbaijan stops flying\u00a0the Turkish flags over the Turkish\u00a0martyrs’ cemetary in Baku.<\/p>\n

When the U.S. and Russia (an EU) forced these protocols on Turkey, they probably expected the estrangement of Azerbaijan.\u00a0 If the\u00a0oil and gas lines from Azerbaijan to Turkey run dry, the biggest beneficary would be, you guessed it, Russia.\u00a0 Risk all you got for something in return that may or may not pan out.\u00a0 We are sold this deal as “dialog, normalization, peace, and democracy” package.\u00a0\u00a0Sometimes I wish\u00a0an engineer was\u00a0the leader in Turkey so that he would know simple math, as in addition and subtraction.<\/p>\n

April 24 is not far away.\u00a0 We will all see if the protocols bring “normalization and peace” or ” more chaos,\u00a0polarization, and stalemate”, with the net result of poorer Turkey due to weakened\/lost energy lines.\u00a0 (Prediction:\u00a0 the latter.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because the deal incredibly left Azerbaijan out.\u00a0 Huge mistake!)<\/p>\n

Case two: Israel<\/span><\/h1>\n

This one has to do with Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, although the tensions came to a head over other things like a cancelled joint military exercises and an aired TV-show:<\/p>\n

My take on all this:<\/span><\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n

I am not against dialog or peace.\u00a0 I am against poor business deals, especially if they are conducted under pressure of partisans with vested interests clashing with yours.<\/p>\n

The foreign policy of Turkey should be updated from “zero problems with neighbors” to “zero old and new<\/strong> problems with neighbors”.<\/p>\n
