The issue of contention is whether the deaths of Armenians during World
\nWar I who revolted against the Ottoman Empire (more than once) was an
\nalleged genocide or casualties of war.\u00a0 I choose to believe the latter
\nas an objective American with ancestral ties to the region.\u00a0 As a
\nfederal employee, I have traveled on official business to Turkey and
\nthe neighboring Commonwealth of Independent States (Georgia,
\nAzerbaijan, and Armenia).\u00a0 During the course of my travels, I have
\nresearched the issue of the alleged “genocide” and engaged in numerous
\nconversations with the layman of both Turkey and Armenia to determine
\nthe root cause of the ongoing dilemma.<\/p>\n

For nearly a century, the Armenians claim to have been victims of a
\nso-called genocide without merit.\u00a0 An accurate account of the “event”
\nduring World War I against the Armenians by the Ottomans was
\nretaliatory to the Armenian revolt\/uprising.<\/p>\n

..hence, an effort to
\neradicate NOT exterminate!\u00a0 There is no denying hundreds of thousands
\nof Armenians were deported a
\nnd\/or lost their lives…but many thousands
\nof Turks were also killed.<\/p>\n

You see, the Armenian Diaspora does not want the logical person to ask
\nthe most fundamental and basic question of all…”Were your [Armenians]
\nactions thegenesis for the [Turks] reaction?”\u00a0 The educated would have
\nto conclude regarding the Armenians siding with the Russians to destroy
\nthe Ottoman Empire as an act of betrayal for nearly 600 years of
\npeaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n

The Armenians in the Ottoman Empire were esteemed citizens of which a
\ngrand portion achieved nobility by serving in official capacities
\nwithin the Ottoman hierarchy as diplomats, cabinet officials, as well
\nas scholars and literary icons.<\/p>\n

We need not venture far into our own past to realize the tragic attack
\non Pearl Harbor by the Japanese that directly threatened our national
\nsecurity.\u00a0 As the United States, we reacted accordingly to preserve the
\nintegrity of a nation by creating internment camps to isolate and
\ncontain the Japanese community in America.<\/p>\n

I implore CNN, for the sake of journalistic integrity, to inquire
\nfurther\u00a0 and research on the following:<\/p>\n

I have been located extensively in both Armenia and Turkey on official
\ntravel for over 12 years.\u00a0 I must say in all sincerity neither
\nethnicity wants to continue in defend
\ning or advocating events of nearly
\n100 years ago; people want to move on despite political pressure.
\nUnfortunately, the Diaspora feels otherwise, thus hampering positive
\nand meaningful relationships in the land thousands of miles away from
\nGlendale, CA.<\/p>\n
