The Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations and its member associations all across Canada remember Honorable Mr. Rauf Denktas on the second\u00a0anniversary of his death. The founding president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Hon.\u00a0Denktas dedicated his life to promoting the inherent equal rights of Turkish Cypriots. As the chief negotiator of Turkish Cypriots in the UN sponsored peace talks from 1968 onwards, \u00a0Hon. Denktas had been an ardent supporter of peace and co-existence on the Mediterranean island.<\/span><\/div>\n
FCTA remembers\u00a0him – the founder of TRNC, the great leader of the Turkish world, the human and nation lover – the Founding President \u00a0Hon. Rauf Denktas with respect, love and thankfulness.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

FCTA, The Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations is an umbrella organization representing 19 member associations from Victoria BC to Quebec, which include approximately 50,000 Canadians of Turkish origin and 200,000 Turkic Canadians. The Federation was established in 1985 and is a non-profit organization with no political affiliations. It supports and encourages activities that deal with important cultural, economic, educational, historical, social and religious issues that relate to the Turkish Community in Canada<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
