GLAFCOS CLERIDES
"Clerides says he will continue to buy weapons from any source. He
says he has attempted to buy tanks from Western suppliers, but
the USA, UK and Germany all turned down his requests. France
offered the Leclerc main battle tank, he says, "but with a three-year
wait and at three times the price of Russian tanks, so I decided to
buy Russian".
